Why Invisalign May Be The Best Solution for You

Why Invisalign May Be The Best Solution for You

Invisalign® is an alternative to traditional braces for fixing mild-to-moderate misalignments. Invisalign clear aligners are almost impossible to notice when talking and smiling, yet they’re highly effective at moving teeth. As a matter of fact, Invisalign moves teeth back into place faster than traditional braces, all while causing less discomfort and pain.

To help you get a better understanding of Invisalign, we asked some of our experts at Arya Dental to explain when clear aligners are the best choice for fixing a misalignment.

What issues Invisalign can fix

Invisalign can fix most misalignments. However, if your misalignment is severe or if several extractions are necessary, our experts may recommend traditional braces. Invisalign can fix crooked teeth, crowded teeth, underbites, overbites, open bites, and crossbites.

Much like traditional braces, Invisalign treatment time can last anywhere from six months to two years.

Invisalign benefits

Invisalign is pricier than traditional braces, but the price is well-justified, as it comes with a series of unique benefits, including:

Traditional braces often come with dietary restrictions and an increased risk for cavities. Hard and sticky foods are usually a big no-no for traditional braces, as they break or get stuck on the brackets.

However, Invisalign clear aligners are removable, so you can take them off before you eat or brush your teeth.

Enamel damage can sometimes occur with both ceramic and metal braces. With Invisalign, however, the pressure is evenly distributed, so the risk of developing enamel damage and stains is reduced.

Learn whether you’re a good candidate for Invisalign

If you have misalignments, a consultation with one of our experts, sometimes followed by an X-ray, will be enough to determine what type of orthodontic treatment best suits your needs. If you’re a good candidate for Invisalign, our expert will take 3D images of your mouth to create a set of clear aligners that fit your teeth perfectly.

Throughout the treatment, you’ll have several sets of clear aligners. Some of your teeth may also feel loose, but this is a normal part of the treatment, as your teeth are moving into their proper positions.

To achieve optimal results, you’ll be recommended to wear the clear aligners for at least 20 hours per day.
